Providence College senior defender Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) was named women's HOCKEY EAST Player of the Month on April 2, 2004.

Halcisak earned the honor for her strong play in the month of March as she helped the Friars claim their second consecutive HOCKEY EAST Tournament title. Halcisak scored three goals and added five assists for a total of 8 points as the Friars went 6-0-0 for the month. She scored at least one point in four of Providence's last six games, including the game-winning goal against New Hampshire in the HOCKEY EAST Tournament Championship game. She was named to the All-Tournament Team and Tournament MVP for her strong play. Halcisak, a First Team All-American, is currently playing for Team USA in the IIHF Women's World Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
