The Women's HOCKEY EAST All-Tournament Team was announced at the conclusion of the championship game on Sunday, March 21 in which Providence defeated No. 1 seeded New Hampshire, 3-0.

The Friars earned four spots on the All-Tournament team with two forwards, a defender and a goaltender being honored. The forwards named to the team were sophomore Karen Thatcher (Douglas, Mass.) and freshman Sonny Watrous (Albuquerque, N.M.). Thatcher scored a total of two goals during the Tournament, including a short-handed goal in Saturday's, 4-2, semifinal victory over Maine. Watrous tallied the game-winner against Maine as she redirected a pass from junior Rush Zimmerman (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) to finish off a two-on-one break. The remaining All-Tournament Team members from Providence were senior defender Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.), who also took home the Tournament's Most Valuable Player Award, and sophomore goaltender Jana Bugden (Corner Brook, Newfoundland). Halcisak tallied two goals during the Tournament and played strong defensively finishing a combined plus five in plus/minus statistics. Bugden made 39 saves on 41 shots during the Tournament and for the second -consecutive season posted a shutout in the Finals. The two goals Bugden allowed versus Maine on Saturday are the only two in her four game Tournament career. The final two spots on the All-Tournament Team went to New Hampshire players, forward Nicole Hekle and defender Allison Edgar.

With their victory on Sunday the Friars finished the season with a 21-13-2 record overall. Bob Deraney became the first head coach in Providence College women's ice hockey history to post four 20-win seasons in their first five years.
