Seven Providence College Women's Hockey Players Named To ECAC All-Academic Team
March 19, 2002 It was announced on Monday, March 18 that seven members of the Providence College women's hockey team were named to the ECAC Eastern Hockey League All-Academic Team. The seven PC players were among 33 student-athletes from eight schools chosen to the all-academic squad. Providence and Maine named seven players each, which was the most in the league. Seniors Angela Hill (Pascoag, R.I.), Jackie Tamsin (Branford, Conn.) and Christa Talbot (Lake Forest, Calif.), juniors Jenn Butsch (Berlin, Vt.), Danielle Culgin (Framingham, Mass.) and Melanie Ruzzi (Burnsville, Minn.), as well as sophomore Amy Quinlan (Baton Rouge) were all named to the ECAC Eastern League All-Academic Team. To be named to the all-academic team, student athletes must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and have competed in at least one-half of the team's contests during the current season.
