    PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- Freshman forward Jessica Tabb (Springfield, Mass.) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year for her outstanding performance in women's ice hockey. She was also selected as an ECAC Honorable Mention All-Star. Tabb becomes the second Friar in three years to earn the honor as Laurie Baker received the accolade in 1996.

    Tabb led the Friars in ECAC scoring this season. Her 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) ranked second among freshmen in league scoring and her overall numbers (22-17-39) ranked her sixth among freshmen. Tabb was named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice and recorded three multiple-goal games, including a hat trick in a 4-3 loss to Northeastern on January 3. She also has recorded 10 multiple-point games this season.

    Tabb, who played her high school hockey at Tabor Academy, is the daughter of Gerald and Martha Tabb.

    The Providence College women's team concluded their season with a 9-21-2 overall record and 9-11-2 mark in the ECAC.
