It was announced on Thursday, March 15 that Providence College sophomore defenseman Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) earned ECAC Eastern Hockey League First Team All-Conference honors.

Halcisak leads all Friar blueliners with nine goals and 18 assists this season. She is tied for third on the team in scoring with 27 points in 30 games. She is in her first season at Providence after transferring from Ohio State where she led the Buckeyes in scoring last season with 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists).

Halcisak became the first Friar to earn ECAC First Team honors since goaltender Sara DeCosta received First Team accolades in 1999. She also is the first Providence defenseman to earn First Team honors since Christina Bailey was named to the First Team in 1994.

Halcisak is the daughter of Tom and Anne Halcisak.
