Providence College freshman forward Sonny Watrous (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named Women's HOCKEY EAST Rookie of the Week on March 15, 2004.

Watrous earned the honor for her strong play in the Friars' two games last week versus Boston College. On Wednesday, March 10 Watrous scored two goals on the power-play in Chestnut Hill, Mass. as the Friars won, 6-1 . On Saturday, March 13 Watrous recorded a goal and assisted on the game winner scored by junior Ashley Payton (Chesterfield, Mo.) as Providence won, 4-2. It is the second time this season Watrous has been named HOCKEY EAST Rookie of the Week. She also was named HOCKEY EAST Player of the Week (1/19/04) and HOCKEY EAST Rookie of the Month for February

Providence College returns to action on March 20 at 1:00 p.m. as it faces the University of Maine in HOCKEY EAST Tournament action at Northeastern's Matthews Arena.
