Women's Ice Hockey Enters Semifinal Match For The 11th Straight Season

    Providence, R.I. - The Providence College women's ice hockey team will enter the Hockey East Semifinal as the fifth seeded team. The Friars will take on top seeded Boston University at the Kennedy Rink in the Hyannis Youth and Community Center in Hyannis, Mass. The Friars and Terriers will play in the first semifinal match on Saturday, March 9 at 12:30 p.m.

    The winner will advance to the Hockey East Championship game, to take place Sunday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hyannis Youth and Community Center. The championship game will be televised on the New England Sports Network tape delayed at 4:00 p.m.

    Fans can purchase tickets for the 11th annual Women's Hockey East Championship through the Hockey East website http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/women/tourney/index.php or through the Hyannis Youth and Community Center box office by calling 508-790-6345. General admission tickets are $8.00 and tickets for groups of 10 or more are $5.00.

    Fans are welcome to join the Friars at the annual Hockey East Awards Banquet to be held Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, Mass. To attend the banquet fans must notify the Providence College Director of Hockey Operations, Justin Simpson at (401) 632-2652 or via email at jdz.simpson@gmail.com The price to attend is $40.00 and reservations must be made by Tuesday, March 5.

    The official hotel accommodations for the Hockey East Tournament are through the Resort and Conference Center at 35 Scudder Ave, Hyannis, Mass. Availability is on a first come first serve basis.
