Providence College junior defenseman Kelli Halcisak(Grosse Ile, Mich.) was named women's HOCKEY EAST Player of the Month on March 3, 2003.

Halcisak earned the honor for her strong play in the month of February. Halcisak scored seven goals and added nine assists for a total of 16 points as the Friars went 9-1-0 for the month. She scored at least one point in nine consecutive games and exploded for five points (1 goal and 4 assists) on February 22 as Providence defeated New Hampshire, 7-4. With her strong effort in February Halcisak became the inaugural winner of the women's HOCKEY EAST scoring title with 21 points (6 goals and 15 assists) in league play.

Providence College plays again on Saturday, March 15 against Connecticut in the women's HOCKEY EAST tournament as the No. 1 seed at Northeastern's Matthews Arena at 4:00 p.m.
