Providence College junior defenseman Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) was named Women's HOCKEY EAST Player of the Week on February 24, 2003.

Halcisak earned the honor for her strong play in the Friars' games last week versus No. 5 New Hampshire and Maine. On Saturday, February 24 Halcisak helped the Friars defeat the Wildcats, 7-4, with a goal and four assists. Halcisak scored an empty net goal and assisted on the short-handed game-winning goal scored by Darlene Stephenson (Virden, Manitoba). Halcisak is currently tied for first on the team in scoring with 13 goals and 24 assists for a total of 37 points.

Providence College travels to Niagara University for a game on Friday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Dwyer Arena.
