Women's Hockey East Tournament To Be Broadcast Live Over The Internet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence women's ice hockey will host the quarterfinals of the Hockey East Tournament on Saturday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. The Friars will take on the University of Connecticut in a rematch of the 2008 Hockey East semifinals. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior tickets. Admission is free for students from both competing schools.

The winning team will advance to the semifinals hosted by top seed New Hampshire on March 7. New Hampshire will face off against the lowest remaining seed with #2 seed Boston College facing the highest remaining team.

The game will be broadcast live over the internet through B2TV.com. Fans can find the link on the women's hockey home page of Friars.com.

Hockey East Tournament games will be available for viewing by a worldwide audience and will be aired through www.hockeyeastonline.com as well as http://www.b2tv.com. Fans wanting to watch hockey games via B2 Networks will need a highspeed Internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player. Games will be sold on an individual basis for $8 (US). Details on the Hockey East Tournament pass for viewing all games broadcast by B2 Networks will cost $20 (US) for four of the five WHEA tournament games.

Last season, Providence came into the tournament as the three seed and upset #2 Connecticut, 5-1, before falling to top-seeded New Hampshire, 1-0, in the championship.
