Providence College sophomore goaltender Jana Bugden (Corner Brook, Newfoundland) was named Women's HOCKEY EAST Defensive Player of the Week on February 23, 2004.

Bugden earned the honor for her strong play between the pipes in the Friars', 2-1, overtime victory on Wednesday, February 18 versus No. 10 Brown University. Bugden made 24 saves on 25 shots, including a kick save late in the second period on a partial breakaway.

Providence College returns to action this weekend as they play a home-and-home series with HOCKEY EAST leading New Hampshire on Saturday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Schneider Arena and Sunday, February 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whittemore Center.
