Women’s Hockey To Compete In Hockey East Quarter Finals

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College women’s ice hockey team earned a spot in the 2016 Hockey East playoffs. Providence will play a best-of-three series at No. 6 Northeastern on Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m., Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m., and Feb. 28 at 2:00 p.m. if necessary.

The Friars finished as the No. 7 seed with a regular season record of 10-22-2 (6-16-2 WHEA). The Huskies finished as the No. 2 seed with a regular season record of 26-7-1 (20-4-0 WHEA).

Providence has only faced Northeastern once before in post season play. The Friars defeated the Huskies, 2-0, in the Hockey East Semi-Final game in 2012.
