Women's Hockey goalie Genevieve Lacasse Named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Women's Hockey Goalie Genevieve Lacasse (Kingston, Ontario) has been named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Women's Hockey East Association. It is the tenth time she has earned the honor.

Lacasse was brilliant in Friday's 0-0 draw with #7 Northeastern, stopping all 42 shots the Huskies fired to earn her school record 18th career shutout. That one point earned in the tie helped PC claim fourth-place in the conference standings and home ice advantage for the upcoming quarterfinal round.

In the tourney opener, Providence will host Maine on Saturday, February 25.
