Madison Myers Named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) was named the Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 19.

The junior net minder turned in a 35-save performance on Sunday to help the Friars defeat the Northeastern Huskies, 1-0. The shutout marked her third of the season and sixth of her career.

Myers was instrumental in Providence’s success during the regular season. She played in 32 of the team’s 34 games and racked up a 15-10-7 record in net. She currently holds a .925 save percentage and a 2.04 goals against average, which ranks fourth in Hockey East.

Providence enters the playoffs as the number two seed in Hockey East and will host seventh-seeded UConn in a best-of-three series. Games are set for Friday, Feb. 23 (7:00 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 24 (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 25 (4:00 p.m. – if needed).
