No. 9 Women's Ice Hockey Game Notes vs. UConn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The ninth-ranked Providence College women's ice hockey team will play a home-and-home series with a twist this weekend. The Friars will host Hockey East Rival UConn on Saturday, February 12. Face-off at Schneider Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m. and tickets are available buy calling 401-865-GOPC.

Sunday's game is scheduled to be played outdoors at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn., the home of UConn football. The 4 p.m. start is part of a two week-long event called Whaler Hockey Fest, a celebration of the sport in the state of Connecticut. The specially constructed outdoor rink will host several games, including an AHL contest between the Connecticut Whale and Providence Bruins, several high school and prep games, and Sunday's doubleheader featuring the UConn men vs. Sacred Heart at 1 p.m. and the UConn men hosting the Friars at 4 p.m. Seating is general admission. Fans can enter the stadium parking lots from Silver Lane, park in Lots 7 and 8 (There will be staff to direct you.) and then enter the stadium through Gate C. Anyone expecting to pick up their tickets via will call can proceed to Gate D. Parents and fans will not have access to the field/ice level. Dress Warm!
