Clare Minnerath Named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week

Jan. 9, 2017

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women’s ice hockey team’s freshman netminder, Clare Minnerath (Sartell, Minn.), was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week in announcement made by the league on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017.

The Rookie of the Week nod for Minnerath is her first weekly honor and the first time a member of the class of 2020 earned a Rookie of the Week selection.

Minnerath was recognized for her performance against ECAC opponent, Cornell, on Jan. 6. Minnerath posted a 26-save shutout in her first collegiate start. The freshman goaltender also helped the Friars kill off six penalties in the non-conference match up.

The Friars are back in action on Jan. 14 at the University of Connecticut to resume Hockey East play at 2:00 p.m.
