Women's Hockey Host Exhibition Game Against Boston Blades

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's hockey team resumes the second half of the season with an exhibition game against the CWHL Boston Blades on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Schneider Arena.

The Boston Blades' roster has four former Friars in Corinne Buie `14, Ashley Cottrell `12, Genevieve Lacasse '12 and Janine Weber '14. Both Cottrell and Buie have appeared in eight games, tallying one goal and one assist each. Weber has seen action in seven games and has registered one goal. In net, Lacasse has played in five games and recorded a 1.50 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage for a 4-0 record with one shootout loss.

Providence last competed on Dec. 8 against No. 4/5 Boston University falling 3-1. Freshman Brooke Boquist (Thunder Bay, Ontario) tallied her third goal of the season while sophomore Cassidy Carels (Bruxelles, Manitoba) picked up her seventh assist. Junior Allie Morse (Cottage Grove, Minn.) made 31 stops in goal while giving up just two goals.

Following the exhibition game the Friars will travel to Troy, N.Y. to play RPI in a non-conference match-up on Jan. 6. The game will start at 4:00 p.m.
