Northeastern Ices Friars, 6-1 at Husky Invitational
BOSTON, Mass. -- Providence College was defeated by Northeastern, 6-1, in women's hockey action at the Husky Invitational on Saturday, January 17 at Boston, Mass.
PC's Jessica Tabb scored the first goal of the game at the 15:43 mark in the first period to put the Friars ahead. The Husky's Kathryn Waldo evened the score at the 16:08 mark in the first period. Northeastern then went on to score three goals from Crystal Baumgartner, Jen Santerre and Colleen Coen in the second period and two goals from Baumgartner and Santerre in the third period to win 6-1.
Northeastern goaltender Shannon Meyers made 23 saves in the win. Providence goaltender Heather Wilcox made 36 stops in the loss.
Northeastern's overall record is now 15-3-1 and Providence's overall record is now 4-14.
The Friars return to action on Sunday, January 18 against the University of New Hampshire at 3:00 p.m. at the Husky Invitational.
