    Women's Ice Hockey Shut Out by Minnesota

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College was defeated by the University of Minnesota, 3-0, in women's hockey action at the Brown Holiday Tournament on Monday, December 29 at Providence, R.I. Ambria Thomas and Nadine Muzerall each finished the game with two points to lead the Golden Gophers in the win.

    Minnesota received goals in the first period from Thomas at 0:35 and Muzerall at the13:39 mark. Matty Brekken netted an insurance goal in the third period for Minnesota at the 13:29 mark.

    Minnesota goaltender Erica Killewald made 39 saves in the win. Providence goaltender Megan Marfione made 15 stops in the loss.

    Providence's overall record is now 3-8 overall and 3-3 in the ECAC.

    The Friars return to action on Tuesday, December 30 at the Brown Holiday Tournament against the Brown University at 7:00 p.m.
