Providence Ices Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Providence College defeated Boston College, 8-2, in ECAC women's ice hockey action on Saturday, November 15 at Chestnut Hill, Mass. Junior forward Myia Yates finished the game with one goal and two assists for three points.

Yates netted the games first goal at the 4:33 mark. Katie Lachapelle scored the next goal for the Friars to go-ahead 2-0. Jennifer Buckley scored BC's first goal at the 10:39 mark. Providence's Lachapelle netted another goal at the 14:57 mark.

The Friars got four goals in the second period from Corinne Rosen at 6:22, Katherine Cahill at 15:25, Alain Frankiewicz at 16:15 and Amber Bobin at 19:55.

Jessica Tabb netted her second goal in the third period for Providence at the 3:04 mark. BC's Kathleen Savino scored at the 8:57 of the period.

Providence goaltender Megan Marfione made 24 saves in the win. Boston College's Christy McCaffrey and Laura Dickman combined for 38 stops in the loss.

PC's overall record is now 1-0 and 1-0 in the ECAC, while Boston College is 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the ECAC.

The Friars return to action on Sunday, November 16 against Dartmouth at Hanover, N.H. at 3:00 p.m.
