Women's Hockey Falls to Brown, 2-1
December 9, 1998 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown University Bears defeated the Providence College Friars, 2-1, in women's ECAC hockey action on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at PC's Schneider Arena. The Friars got on the scoreboard first when Corinne Rosen tipped a blast from the right point by Alain Frankiewicz at 11:11 of the first period. Marcie Deering evened the game for the Bears at 14:22 of the second when she wristed in a rebound past Friar netminder Bridgid Keady. Brown took a 2-1 lead with 2:45 remaining in the second period when Ali Kenney blasted in a snap shot that proved to be the game-winning goal. Brown netminder Ali Brewer made 18 stops in the win. Keady recorded 29 saves for the Friars. With the win, Brown improved to 5-1-3 overall and 5-1-3 in ECAC action, while Providence dropped to 6-2-2 overall and 5-2-2 in league play.
