Women's Hockey Defeated By Dartmouth, 6-2
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Dartmouth College defeated the Providence College Friars, 6-2, in ECAC women's hockey action on Saturday, November 20 at PC's Schneider Arena. Junior forward Jennifer Wiehn led the Big Green with a hat trick and one assist. Dartmouth wasted little time taking control of the game as Kristina Guarino put the Big Green ahead, 1-0, with a goal just 19 seconds into the contest. Emillia Peraza increased Dartmouth's lead to 2-0 at the 4:06 mark of the first before Wiehn went to work. Wiehn netted three consecutive goals at 9:07, 14:11 and 16:42 as Dartmouth ended the first period with a 5-0 lead. The Friar offense came to life in the second period as Jessica Tabb and Kim Mathias each tallied a power-play goal at 15:18 and 18:33 to cut into the Dartmouth lead. However, Dartmouth's Kristen King scored the final goal of the game with 22 seconds remaining in the second period to seal the victory. Dartmouth goaltender Meaghan Cahill registered 13 saves in the win. Friar netminder Sara DeCosta made 25 stops. With the win, Dartmouth raised its record to 4-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in ECAC play, while Providence falls to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in league action.
