Providence, R.I. - The Providence College women's hockey team returned home to a newly refurbished lockerroom in Schneider Arena for the first time in nearly a month, playing six straight road games. Colonial sophomore Alissa Dorman (Madison, Wisc.) scored the game-tying goal midway through the third period. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, after a five minute overtime period. With the tie, Providence now goes to 4-5-3 overall and Robert Morris goes to 5-7-2 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Providence got on the scoreboard first on a powerplay goal from junior Sarah Feldman (Fall River, Mass.). The goal resulted from precise passing from veterans Erin Normore (Cambridge, Ont.) and Kristin Gigliotti (Sauquoit, N.Y.). The Friars dominated the second period, outshooting the Colonials 20-3 but could only muster one goal.

Robert Morris knotted the game at 1-1 at the 10:30 mark in the third period on an even strength goal from Alissa Dorman. The goal, Dorman's eighth of the season, was assisted by Megan Picinic (Cliffside Park, N.J.) and junior Maria Olausson (Copenhagen, Denmark). For Olausson, the assist was her 14 on the season leading the Colonials in that category. Providence controlled the offensive end again in the third taking 14 shots on goal to Robert Morris' three. Colonial goalie Brianne McLaughlin (Sheffield Village, Ohio) made some spectacular saves and finished with a game high 44 saves. Providence goalie Danielle Ciarletta (Blaine, Minn.) was not challenged as often as McLaughlin, but finished with 14 saves.

Both teams spent most of the overtime session in the center of the ice with Providence taking only two shots and Robert Morris taking one shot. No team posed a real threat in overtime and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Providence will be at Brown University on Friday, November 24 playing for the Mayor's Cup trophy at 7:00 p.m.
