PC Women's Hockey Falls To Northeastern, 2-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College Friars were defeated by the Northeastern University Huskies, 2-0 in women's ECAC hockey action, on Friday November 12, at PC's Schneider Arena.

The Huskies opened the scoring at the 8:22 mark of first period, when forward Kathleen Savino tipped in a Beth Clagget pass in front of the net, to give Northeastern a 1-0 lead. The score remained untill 1:13 into the second, when NU's Jennie Setaro found a streaking Michelle Lorion at the blue line, Lorion then broke free, and beat Friar goalie Sara DeCosta for the game's final goal giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead.

Northeastern goalie Erica Silva stopped 21 shots for the victory, while DeCosta made 26 saves for the Friars.

With the win, Northeastern improves to 5-1-1 overall, 2-0-1 in the ECAC, the Friars fall to 3-2-0 and 2-1-0. The Friars will return to action on November 13, at Northeastern at 7:00 p.m.
