PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 24, 2004) -- The Providence College women's hockey team skated to a 4-4 tie with Princeton on October 30 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I.

The Friars had a balanced offensive night, while Princeton's Kim Pierce dominated the offensive play. Pierce opened up the scoring at the 10:02 of the first period on a power play assisted by Heather Jackson and Chrissi Norwich. Providence rallied back with two straight goals. Rush Zimmerman (Grosse Point, Mich.) scored a goal at the 7:00 mark assisted by Kelli Doolin (Dorchester, Mass.) and captain Danielle Bourgette (Anaheim, Calif.). Less than a minute later, the Friars struck again when Karen Thatcher (Douglas, Mass.) recorded her fifth goal of the season with the assist from Sonny Watrous (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Zimmerman.

Kristin Gigliotti (Sauquoit, N.Y.) wasted little time in the third period when she complimented the assists by Emily Gryp (Lexington, Mass.) and Thatcher with a goal at the 00:52 mark. Two minutes later, Zimmerman added another goal to the scoreboard when she posted her second of the game and fourth goal of the season. Thatcher tallied her second assist of the night, while Kim Vesling recorded her first career point on the play.

Pierce continued to be aggressive on the offensive end as she recorded her third goal of the night at 6:43. Heather Jackson and Dina McCumber assisted Pierce on the game-tying goal at the 19:26 mark. Pierce ended the night with four goals, two power play and two even strength.

Princeton held the shot advantage 35-31, including 15 in the second period.
