Women's Hockey Defeated By Northeastern, 4-0

BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College women's ice hockey team was defeated by Northeastern, 4-0 on Oct. 25. The Friars fall to 0-6-0 (0-2-0 WHEA), while Northeastern improves to 6-1-1 (2-0-0 WHEA).

Senior netminder Allie Morse (Cottage Grove, Minn.) earned her first start of the season making six saves. Alanna Serviss (Chicago, Ill.) entered the game and played 44:52 minutes for the Friars. The junior netminder made a career high 24 saves and did not let up a goal against.

The Huskies struck all four times in the first period to secure a 4-0 lead over the Friars. Despite having a 40% conversion rate on the power play, each of Northeastern's goals were scored even handed.

Heather Mottau notched the first goal of the game at 7:07 with a back door shot. Kendall Coyne added the next two goals for the Huskies at 9:56, as she slid the puck through Morse's legs for a five-hole goal. Coyne tallied her second goal at 14:45 of the first after collecting her own rebound on a breakaway chance.Northeastern's final tally of the game came at 15:08 of the first period from Denisa Krizova.

Next up, the Friars will travel to the University of Maine for a 7:00 p.m. game time on Oct. 30.
