The Providence College women's hockey was defeated, 1-0, by No. 1 ranked Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday, October 13 in Duluth, Minn.

Nora Tallus scored a power play goal at the 11:20 mark of the second period to lift the Bulldogs over the Friars for the second straight night.

The Friars were outshot, 38-24. Providence sophomore goaltender Amy Quinlan (Baton Rouge, La.) earned first star of the game honors as she made 37 saves. Tuula Puputti made 24 saves for the Bulldogs.

With the loss, Providence fell to 0-2, while Minnesota-Duluth improved to 2-0. The Friars return to action on Friday, October 26 at they host Findlay at Schneider Arena.
