Women's Hockey Defeated by Dartmouth, 4-2
HANOVER, N.H. -- Dartmouth College defeated the Providence College Friars, 4-2, in women's ECAC hockey action on Sunday, March 7 at Hanover, N.H.
Dartmouth led 1-0 after 20 minutes of play as Liz Macri poked in a rebound from the left side of the crease at the 19:45 mark. Providence got on the scoreboard when Katie Lachapelle wristed in a shot at 5:00 of the second period. The Big Green regained the lead at 8:21 of the second period on a goal by Kathleen O'Keefe. Myia Yates scored for the Friars at 15:53 to even the game at 2-2. However, Dartmouth's Carrie Sekela scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 16:33 of the third period. Correne Bredin notched a goal at 1:25 of the third to seal the win for Dartmouth. With the win, Dartmouth raised its record to 15-8-5 overall and 14-7-5 in ECAC play, while Providence College dropped to 19-11-3 overall and 15-8-3 in league play.
