Women's Hockey Defeats Dartmouth, 5-4

Hanover, N.H. --The Providence College Women's Hockey team defeated the Dartmouth Big Green, 5-4, in ECAC hockey action, on March 4, at Dartmouth's Thompson Arena.

PC's junior forward Jessica Tabb (Holland, Mass.) recorded her second hat trick in three games to lead the Friars. Teammate Kim Mathias (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) assisted on all three Tabb goals, and added a tally of her own at the 15:50 mark of the first.

Senior Kerstin Matthews (Westford, Mass.) netted the game-winner for PC, at 5:49 of the third, assisted by freshman Melanie Ruzzi (Burnsville, Minn).

Friars goalie Sara DeCosta (Warwick, R.I.) stopped 37 shots, while Dartmouth's Megahn Cahill recorded 11 saves in the loss.

With the win, Providence improves to 20-9-3 overall, 14-7-3 in the ECAC, the Big Green fall to 18-10-0 and 17-7-0 in league play.
