Box Score

The Providence College women's hockey team suffered a 1-0 upset loss to Boston College, on Sunday, March 3 on Senior Day at PC's Schneider Arena.

Senior Jaclyn Kryzak scored the only goal of the game with 2:57 remaining in the third period to lift the Eagles to their first win over the Friars since the 1976-77 season. With the loss, the Friars finish the regular season at 17-13-4 overall and 11-7-3 in the ECAC Eastern League, good for fourth place in the league. PC will host Maine in an ECAC Eastern League quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 9 at Schneider Arena at 2:00 p.m. The Eagles finished at 9-18-4 and 5-13-3 in the league. BC, which is the No. 7 seed, will travel to Northeastern to face the Huskies in the quarterfinals.

The Friars outshot the Eagles, 45-13, including 17-2 in the final period. However, the Friars couldn't get anything past Eagles' goaltender Lisa Davis, who stopped all 45 shots. PC nearly scored with eight minutes remaining, but freshman Danielle Bourgette's (Anaheim, Calif.) slap shot hit the post.
