Women's Hockey Defeats Boston College, 4-2

Chestnut Hill, Mass. --The Providence College Women's Hockey team defeated the Boston College Eagles, 4-2, in ECAC hockey action, on March 3, at BC's Kelley Rink.

PC's Kim Mathias (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) recorded a hat trick, including the game-winner at 13:07 of the third period. Junior Jessica Tabb (Holland, Mass.) added three assists. Jennifer Bill (Minnestrista, Minn.) added a insurance goal, giving the Friars a 4-2 lead with 5:51 left in the game.

Friars goalie Sara DeCosta (Warwick, R.I.) stopped 12 shots, while BC's Christy Nentwig had 32 saves in the loss.

With the win, Providence improves to 19-9-3 overall, 13-7-3 in the ECAC, the Eagles fall to 6-21-2 and 1-20-2 in league play.

Providence will return to action on March 4, when they travel to Dartmouth.
