CANTON, N.Y. -- Providence could not prevent St. Lawrence from battling back on two occasions as they tied each other in ECAC women's hockey action Friday afternoon, February 20.
After a scoreless first stanza, the Friars got on the board on a goal from freshman Jessica Tabb just :15 into the second period. St. Lawrence answered at the 16:00 mark when senior Kelly Usmail netted a goal. PC's senior co-captain Catherine Hanson put the team ahead again with a four-on-four goal at the 4:39 mark of the third period, but St. Lawrence freshman Stacy Boudrias scored at 10:43 to lock the game into a 2-2 stalemate.
St. Lawrence goaltender Emily Stein made 44 saves in the tie, while Providence goaltender Heather Wilcox made 15 stops in the tie.
St. Lawrence is now 5-12-2 overall and 8-14-2 in the ECAC. Providence College is now 8-18-2 overall and 8-9-2 in the ECAC.
The Friars return to action on Saturday, February 21 against Cornell at 7:00 p.m.
