Women's Hockey Falls To The U.S. National Team, 6-0 In An Exhibition Game

Providence, R.I.... --The Providence College Friars were defeated by the US National Team, 6-0 in women's exhibition hockey action, on February 19, at PC's Schneider Arena.

Former PC stars Cammi Granato and Stephanie O'Sullivan paced Team USA. Granato registered a team high four points, one goal and three assists, while O'Sullivan added one goal and an assist.

Two more former Friars jumped into the scoring column, as Catherine Hanson added a goal at 8:20 of the first period, and Chris Bailey assisted on O'Sullivan's first period goal.

Sara DeCosta (Warwick, R.I.) stopped 45 shots in goal, while USA goalie Erin Whitten recorded 7 saves for the shutout victory.

Providence record stands at 17-7-3 overall, 11-5-3 in the ECAC. The Friars will return to action on Feb. 20, at Brown University, at 2:00 p.m.
