Women's Hockey Defeats Minnesota State, 10-1

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Providence College used its largest offensive output of the season to defeat Minnesota State (Mankato State), 10-1, in women's hockey action on Saturday, Jan. 16 at the High Peaks Hockey Classic in Lake Placid, N.Y. With a 3-0 lead after two periods, the Friar offense took over in the third period with seven goals. Jessica Tabb opened the scoring for PC at 9:24 of the first period. Corinne Rosen scored her first goal of the game at 18:24 of the first period to give the Friars a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. Rosen went on to tally one goal in each of the next two periods to record her first collegiate hat trick. Bridgid Keady and Heather Wilcox combined to make 18 stops in net for PC. With the win, Providence raised its record to 11-3-2 overall, while Minnesota State fell to 6-11. Providence College will return to action against Concordia University on Jan. 17 at 2:00 p.m. in Lake Placid, N.Y.
