Women's Hockey Defeated by Concordia, 3-0

Women fall to 11-4-2 overall.

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Concordia University defeated Providence College, 3-0, in women's hockey action on Sunday, Jan. 17 at the High Peaks Hockey Classic in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Concordia opened the scoring when Kari Copitts poked in a rebound at 3:24 of the first period for what proved to be the game-winning goal. Amy Coelho added the Stingers' second goal of the period at 19:59. Marie-Claude Allard tallied the final goal of the game for Concordia at 18:52 of the second period.

Sara DeCosta recorded 21 saves in net for Providence.

With the loss, Providence falls to 11-4-2 overall.

Providence College will return to action against the University of New Hampshire on Jan. 22 at Durham, N.H.
