GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Following the first period, the Friars held a 10-9 advantage in shots. Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) made nine saves, including a short-handed breakaway bid late in the period.
- 4:13 into the second period, the Catamounts took a 1-0 lead on a goal by junior Saana Valkama. She scored on a deflection in front and was assisted by Anna Erickson and Amanda Drobot.
- Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) tied the game at 1-1 with a snipe just 5:17 into the third. Her wrist shot from the bottom of the circle found the top left corner and was assisted by Neve Van Pelt (Mitchell, Ontario) and Rachel Rockwell (Broadview Heights, Ohio).
- Rockwell’s assist was her second in as many days.
- The Catamounts outshot the Friars in the overtime period, 4-1. Overall, Vermont led 30-25 in shots.
- Myers finished the afternoon with 29 saves.
- The Friars extended their unbeaten streak to six games with today’s tie.
- Providence concludes the regular season series against Vermont with a 2-0-1 record.
