Ruff joins the staff after a stellar, four-year playing career with the Friars. In addition, Ruff is third on the Providence career games played list with 142.

Ruff led the team with 20 assists and a remarkable plus/minus rating of +26. She was second on the squad with four game-winning goals, including an overtime strike at Colgate on October 16.

Ruff garnered several individual honors during her playing career. She was the only unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie team in 2008, a 2010 Hockey East Honorable Mention, and a three-time Hockey East Academic All-Star. She also earned multiple spots on the Jewish Sports Review's All-America team.
