The IIHF World Championships will take place in Malmo, Sweden.

Sara DeCosta is one of the top goaltenders in the country ... helped the U.S. Olympic Team earn a gold medal in Nagano, Japan in 1998 ... recorded a 1.59 goals against average and a .875 save percentage at the Olympics ... is a tremendous athlete ... will be the team's top goaltender ... participated in the USA Hockey Women's Festival in August.

AT PROVIDENCE: Played and started 28 games last season ... posted two shutouts ... made 39 saves in a 3-2 win vs. Cornell (1/3/99) ... earned Second Team All-America honors ... named to ECAC First Team All-League team ... named ECAC/Heaton Goaltender of the Week three times ... earned team MVP honors ... named a New England Hockey Writers All-Star ... Did not play for the Friars in 1997-98... played in 27 games in 1996-97 ... earned ECAC Honorable Mention All-Star honors in 1997 ... named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice in 1996-97 ... recorded two shutouts in 1996-97 ... posted first collegiate shutout in a 5-0 win against St. Lawrence on 11/23/96 ... made a career-high 50 saves in a 4-2 loss to Concordia (12/1/96) and in a 2-2 tie with UNH (1/19/97) ... registered 40 or more saves in six games as a freshman.
