Tabb earns ECAC Rookie of the Week Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- Providence College freshman forward Jessica Tabb of Springfield, Massachusetts was named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, December 1.

Tabb received the accolade after her performance in the Princeton Invitational which was held in Princeton, N.J. on November 28-30. On Friday, Nov. 28, Tabb recorded two goals in a 5-4 loss to Minnesota. She registered another goal on Sunday, Nov. 30 in a 3-2 loss to Princeton. In addition to the three goals at the Princeton Invitational, Tabb netted a goal and added an assist against Boston College in her first collegiate game on Nov. 15. In seven games, Tabb has tallied five points (four goals and one assist) while centering the first line in five out of the last seven games.

Tabb, who played her high school hockey at Tabor Academy, is the daughter of Gerald and Martha Tabb.

Providence returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 6 against ECAC foe Yale in New Haven, Conn. at 1:30 p.m. The following day, the Friars will return to Princeton, N.J. to face the Tigers of Princeton at 1:30 p.m.
