Friars Earn Three Players on All-BIG EAST Field Hockey Squad

PROVIDENCE, RI - The BIG EAST announced today that Providence College has earned three members on the 1998 BIG EAST Field Hockey team as chosen by the six head coaches.

Junior forward Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) heads the list as a repeat selection on the First Team. A unanimous selection, Hebert finished with 34 points this season including 15 goals and four assists. Hebert scored 59% of her team's points and scored more than four times any of her teammates. She finished second in scoring among players in the BIG EAST.

Senior back Jamie Shipman (Spencer, MA) is a repeat Second Team All-BIG EAST select for the Friars. Starting every game for the Friars, Shipman was a catalyst in the backfield for Providence and proved the difference in several games.

Freshman Katie Willett (Biddeford, ME) was a unanimous selection to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team. The freshman started 10 of 16 games for the Friars and will be a key to PC's future.
