Megan Guilbert To Play In 2017 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior field hockey goalkeeper Megan Guilbert (Morganville, N.J.) was selected to play in the 2017 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, while fellow senior Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.) was chosen as an alternate for the event. The NFHCA announced its list of 38 participants and 12 alternates on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

The senior game will be held on Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky. It is scheduled to be played following the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, which is slated for Nov. 17 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Guilbert has played 1,055 minutes in the cage this season and owns a 1.79 goals against average and a 0.724 save percentage. She has back-stopped the Friars to a current record of 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, with three regular-season games remaining on the schedule. Since taking over as a full-time member of the starting line-up in 2016, Guilbert has posted a 23-11 record with five shut-out victories. In 44 career games, she has logged 2,865 minutes in the cage and owns a 1.71 goals against average and 0.732 save percentage. Last season, Guilbert was an All-BIG EAST First-Team selection.

Hamilton, a central-midfielder, has collected six points on three goals this season. She was credited with the game-winning goal in the Friars’ 3-2 victory over cross-city rival Brown on Sept. 2. She also has one defensive save on the year, which she registered at top-ranked Connecticut on Sept. 29. She is a three-time All-BIG EAST selection having earned Second-Team honors in 2014 and 2016, and First-Team recognition in 2016. Hamilton ranks 17th all-time at Providence in career scoring (65 points), tied for 14th all-time in career goals (27) and tied for 32nd in assists (11).



The Providence College field hockey team will return to action on Friday, Oct. 20 against BIG EAST foe Liberty. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN3/WatchESPN and is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
