The Providence College field hockey team travels to Burlington, Vt. on Monday, October 8 to face the University of Vermont in non-conference action at Noon. Providence enters the match with a 5-6 overall record, having lost each of its last four games.
Most recently, the Friars fell to No. 1 Syracuse, 3-0, on October 6 in Providence, R.I. Five of the Friars' six losses this season have come against ranked opponents.
Junior Caitlin Malone (Ossining, N.Y.) leads the Friars in scoring with 16 points on five goals and six assists Sophomore Henni Tietze (Sankt Augustin, Germany) is second among her teammates in scoring with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Fellow sophomores Steph Guglielmo (Castle Rock, Colo.) and Kaleigh FitzPatrick (Dedham, Mass.) round out the list of double-digit scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Ten players on Providence's roster have recorded goals this season.
Senior Kathi Weidman (Millersville, Pa.) has played 551 minutes in goal this season and owns a 2.29 goals against average and a 0.695 save percentage. Weidman holds a record of 4-3 overall and has posted one shut-out victory.

VERMONT (1-10)... The University of Vermont field hockey team enters Monday's game with a 1-10 overall record. The Catamounts are led by Alana Izzo, who has recorded a team-best nine points on three goals and three assists. Colleen Slaughter is second on the team with six points on three goals. Stephanie Zygmunt has played 754 minutes in goal for Vermont. She has allowed 38 goals and has recorded 101 saves for a 3.53 goals against average and a 0.727 save percentage.
