PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College junior goalkeeper Rachel Chamberlain (Branford, Conn.) followed up her BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honor by being named WomensFieldHockey.com Player of the Week on Tuesday, October 7. Additionally, the Friars managed to break into the WomensFieldHockey.com National Poll for the first time this season at No. 15.

Chamberlain led the Friars to a 2-1 record last week. She helped guide the Friars to a 2-1, double-overtime, victory over 13th-ranked Boston College on October 1 with two saves. She followed that performance with her fourth shut-out victory of the season against BIG EAST foe Villanova on October 4 with four saves. It also marked the 16th shut out of her career as the Friars blanked the Wildcats by a score of 3-0. Chamberlain then recorded a season-high 14 saves in a 2-0 loss to 12th-ranked Princeton on October 5.

Joining Chamberlain among the list of WomensFieldHockey.com honorees were Rookie of the Week Paige Selenski of Virginia. The honor roll was made up of Amanda Barrett (Rider), Alyschia Conn (Old Dominion), Megan Stucke (Radford), Laura Suchoski (Duke), Lauren Walls (James Madison) and Sarah Wilhite (Michigan).
