PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College field hockey player Henni Tietze (Sankt Augustin, Germany) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, September 10 for her performance last week vs. Kent State and Harvard.

Tietze anchored the Friar defense in each game, leading the Friars to a 6-2 win over Kent State and a 3-0 victory against Harvard. Providence's victory over Harvard marked the team's first shut-out victory since September 19, 2010 when the squad blanked Columbia, 2-0. Tietze also proved to be a valuable asset on the offensive side of the field, as she netted two goals and recorded one assist for five points.

Last season, Tietze was named to the All-BIG EAST Second-Team as a rookie. Earlier this fall, she was named to the 2012 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Friars return to action on Tuesday, September 11 against Holy Cross. The game will be played in Worcester, Mass. and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
