Friars Fall to Cal-Berkeley, 3-2

BOSTON, MA - -- The Providence College Friars fell to University of California at Berkeley, 3-2 this afternoon in a game played at Boston University.

Cal-Berkeley raced ahead 2-0 at the half before PC's Jamie Lerch (Medway, MA) scored with 33:30 remaining in the second half. Lerch's goal was assisted by junior Carrie Leoncavallo (Bellingham, MA).

Cal-Berkeley answered back with a quick goal to give the west coast visitors a 3-1 advantage. Junior Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) added the last goal of the game with 6:50 remaining.

Friar sophomore goalie Heather Tattersall (Bethlehem, NH) made 13 saves between the posts. Providence recorded 15 shots while Cal-Berkeley added 17.
