Providence Falls to Maine in Field Hockey Season Opener, 4-1
September 2, 1998 ORONO, Me. - PROVIDENCE FALLS TO MAINE, 4-1 IN SEASON OPENER Orono, ME -- The Providence College Friars dropped the season opener, 4-1 to the University of Maine. Junior Erica Hebert (Enfield, CT) opened the game scoring at the 33:47 mark of the first half on a penalty corner. Maine answered tying the score at 1-1 at the midway point. In the second half, Maine dominated as they scored three more times and held Providence scoreless. The Friars managed six shots during the game while Maine recorded 15. Friar sophomore goalie Heather Tattersall (Bethlehem, NH) made eight saves between the posts in her first collegiate start. Maine's goalie Linsday Rice recorded two stops.
