Providence College Field Hockey Hosts Boston University

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (0-2, 0-0 BIG EAST): The Providence College field hockey team returns to action on Friday, September 3 when it hosts Boston University at 7:00 p.m. The game will be held at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I. In the Friars last match, the team fell to No. 9 Boston College, 5-0.

    Last season, Providence defeated Boston University, 2-0, in Cambridge, Mass. Under Head Coach Diane Madl, Providence is 2-2 against Boston University. The Friars will return to action against the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, September 5. The game will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Durham, N.H.

    BOSTON UNIVERSITY (2-0, 0-0 AMERICA EAST): Boston University enters Friday's match coming off back-to-back victories. On Saturday, August 28, the Terriers defeated Hofstra, 3-0. On Sunday, August 29, BU defeated Virginia Commonwealth, 2-1, in Albany, N.Y. Junior Andrea Greene leads the Terriers in scoring this season with six points on three goals. Nicole van Oosterom and Allie Dolce have each provided a goal and an assist. Senior Amanda Smith and sophomore Julie Collins have split time in the cage, each playing 70 minutes, respectively. BU has out shot its opponents this season, 28-12.
