Jaime Lipski Selected To Attend Junior National Camp

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College junior field hockey player Jaime Lipski (Dallas, Pa.) was selected to attend Junior National Camp. The announcement was made by USA Field Hockey on June 30. Lipski will vie for a roster spot on the U.S. Under-21 Junior National Team that will compete in the Junior World Cup in Boston, Mass. from August 3-16, 2009. The 2009 BDO Women's Junior World Cup is the largest international field hockey event ever held in the United States. At the event, nearly 300 athletes will represent 16 nations during World Cup action. Among the 16 countries set to compete in the Junior World Cup will be the United States, Argentina, Germany, Korea, Australia, England, South Africa and India. Lipski had an impressive sophomore season for the Providence College Field Hockey team in 2008. She recorded a career-high 20 points on six goals and eight assists. She earned NFHCA All-Northeast Region Second-Team honors, and also excelled academically as a member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. Lipski was invited to Junior National Camp after competing for the New England High Performance Squad at the 2009 Women's National Championship in Virginia Beach, Va. It marked her first stint with the team, joining current Friar teammate Nellie Poulin (Oakland, Maine). Poulin finished play at the Women's National Championship as the tournament's top goal scorer. She netted five goals in six games for New England.
