Eight Field Hockey Players Named To NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College field hockey program was well represented on the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, which was released on March 22, 2016. The program also was recognized for its collective efforts in the classroom by earning the ZAG Field Hockey / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.

Eight members of the Friars’ roster were named to national academic squad, including Deidra Clymer (South Windsor, Conn.), Abbey Gannon (Sherborn, Mass.), Maura Ingraham (Binghamton, N.Y.), Corinne Kenney (Warrington, Pa.), Kali Kilmer (Wayne, Pa.), Emma Lucas (Naarden, Netherlands), Kelsey Mendell (Landenberg, Pa.) and Abby Thornton (West Pittston, Pa.).

The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Additionally, the Providence College field hockey team was a recipient of the National Academic Team Award, which recognizes institutions that achieved a minimum Team GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
