Hi Alums! Hello fellow Friars! Throughout the 2013 season, each member of the team had an opportunity to write an "Alumni Update," which, as you know, gives the PC Field Hockey alumni an idea of what we have been up to and how our season is going.
This spring, however, we are doing something a little bit different. Instead of each player reporting on what is going on in Friartown, each member of our team is going to ask a few questions to a former player about their PC Field Hockey experience. Our players were given a list of all-time uniform numbers for the program, and from that list they needed to contact an alum who also wore their number.
The second edition of the Alumni Update is here, and Caitlin Malone asks 2010 graduate Ali Shover a few questions! Caitlin, known as Kate here on campus, wears #8 for the Friars. Kate will complete her undergraduate degree this May, but has one more year of eligibility remaining with the Friars.
RISING 5TH-YEAR KATE MALONE (#8) conducted the interview.
Kate: Did you ever have any rituals/routines you did before games? If so, what were they?
Ali: My ritual was to have a cup of coffee before the each game (shhhh)
Kate: What was your favorite drill to do during practice?
Kate: What is something you wish you had known during your four years playing field hockey?
Ali: People always told me how fast it would go and I never really listened. It went way TOO FAST!!
Kate: What do you miss most about being a member of PCFH?
Ali: I miss the girls and the coaches so much. Of course I miss playing the game, but most of all I miss all the amazing people I met along the way. Those girls are some of my closest friends today.
